What is buy a feature?
Buy-a-feature is a prioritization tool when refining a product. It is based on a game format whereby stakeholders are provided with a fixed amount of money to spend on the features they prefer. Each feature is proportionally priced on its estimated development cost.
By observing the interactions, discussions and the features bought, it is possible to glean insights into the features that are valued and conversely those that are not. It promotes in-depth discussion of specific features and uncovers what customers really want. This in turn helps product managers to prioritize their ideas.
